Israel Lazarus, 76 [born about 1883], native of Russia and resident of Valdosta for about 10 years [since about 1949], died this morning in a local hospital after an illness of several days.
Funeral arrangements had not been completed at noon, and will be announced by the McGowan Funeral Home [308 N. Patterson Street, Valdosta].

- Mrs. Max Bohrman, Lake City [Florida] and
- Mrs. Freddy [Freda] Rosenberg, Jacksonville;
- a brother,
- Will Lazarus, Sparks [Georgia] and
- eight grandchildren.
Mr. Lazarus came to this country from his native Russia as a young man.
He soon established himself in Quitman [Georgia], as a merchant and lived there until he moved to Valdosta upon his retirement.
He was a Mason and a member of the Valdosta Jewish Congregation [later known as Temple Israel].

Funeral services for Israel Lazarus who died Thursday [5 Mar] in a local hospital, were held this morning [6 Mar] at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the McGowan Funeral Home [308 N. Patterson Street, Valdosta].
Rabbi Louis Gorod, pastor of the Valdosta Jewish Synagogue [later known as Temple Israel], officiated.
